Diesel & Marine Services was established in 1986 after identifying a need in the fishing industry for a reliable repair and maintenance service, essentially on diesel engines and hydraulic equipment.

Whilst Diesel & Marine Services still offer diesel and hydraulic repairs to the fishing industry, we have expanded our services to include aquaculture products and services, industrial maintenance, agricultural repairs and all facets of machining and metal spraying.

Diesel & Marine Services also design and manufacture various types of machinery. We have produced trawling winches, capstans, power blocks and a complex range of machinery for various factories.

Diesel & Marine Services operates an extensive stocked store. We stock over 14,000 line items to cover all types of industry. Our broad range of suppliers allows us to source part from all over Australia and the world. the store caters for slipway clients and the general public.

In 2001, Diesel & Marine Services extended their vertical integration considerably, with the acquisition of the slipway facility at Billy Lights Point, Port Lincoln South Australia. This facilitiy is now operated in its entirety by D.M.S. and slips vessels to approximately 1200 tonnes. The slipway has been upgraded to enable barges of 80 metres in length to be berthed.

The Company now offer all ancillary services to our customers, such as blasting, painting, steel fabrication, hydraulics, fitters and turners, machining, diesel mechanics, sheet metal work, refrigeration mechanic, electricians and on site trades access.

In the later half of the year 2002, Diesel & Marine Services opened a second premises, Q Mechanical Services, operating near the Port Lincoln marina.

The company is equipped to service and repair vehicles, trucks, cranes, forklifts and various types of lifting equipment. They are agents for Detroit and Deutz diesel engines and also offer service and repairs to a wide range of other engines.

The Company maintains a retail outlet of spare parts and consumables which is open to the general public and trade.

In 2005 Q Mechanical Services extended the business and opened a state of the art four bay wash which includes two manual, one automatic and one truck bus wash. The company took the initiative to develop a swipe card system that can be used by a customer and billed directly to a monthly account.
With the growth of the slipway area, Diesel Marine Services needed to find new premises and site to accommodate its poly-welding business. A new company called DMS POLYBOND was formed in 2005 and moved to the industrial area of Port Lincoln.
We now operate a gas fired rota-moulder to produce polyethylene aquaculture products and rainwater tanks. The rota-moulder oven operates 24 hours a day when required.

With a work force of 5 employees, DMS Polybond has not looked back. We supply and manufacture fin fish rings and aquaculture products for the local, interstate and overseas markets. Our onsite work has included the butt fusion welding of poly-pipes for irrigation and land based aquaculture hatcheries.
